webs.com or Something Else????

Hello group,

I'm writing this one just get on the real track of this website. The real reason for your site maybe to simply display your life or family, but if it's to have a small business then watch out with webs.com! This webs.com service gives the graphical user interfaces *(GUIs) you have grown to love, but, and this is a big but, there are commercials and limiting site transformation options. Fiddle Sticks!!!! Ya, I said this too, but like I wrote in the last blog entry, you can find a site transformation website were "coding" is not necessary. WordPress! Yes, maybe you heard of it??? Well, this takes you one step further to making a "custom" website.

There are themes in WordPress that you can use, and they can be simply downloaded > installed > tried, in a matter of minutes. You don't have to be a developer, but keep in mind you should visit some technical forums like www.daniweb.com and www.stackoverflow.com, to stay on the website design "bay". Well, the website to WordPress is www.wordpress.com, and below is an image of the site so you know you're in the right place.

See you guys and gals,

You Got The Basic Stuff, Now Think About It's Future

Hi everyone,

Just another good old post, and this time I have some more neat ideas. So, you have the Social Media, Visit Counter, and any other "small" addition down. With the website changer feature (shown in previous postings) you can do all the customization by yourself. Such things as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), complete page restructuring, and custom domain name are important to think about.

How fast a person can get to your site is extremely important if you are selling products. Or you're offering some kind of service which is time sensative and you really, really, really need to offer it before your time runs out. I did a simple google search and found both http://tools.seobook.com/ (show below)  and http://www.prsearch.biz/ which will lead you into the right direction when it comes to how SEO works. Complete page restructering and buying a domain name (usually for less than $10) is easy since a really fast Google search will give you mostly all the same design and domain name products. I gave SEO links since this topic not talked about very much. Okay, I'll see all of you next time!

Thanks,
Edgar Zotov

Now on to how you can customize your space online

So, its been a long while since I last wrote but don't think I have forgotten you! No, I have just been making a list of what features a "business" website needs as apposed to a personal one. Any small business needs to attract its viewers and stylizing/social networking/easiness of use are important factors to consider. My webs.com site, if you remember, can have a Facebook "like" button, a Twitter "follow" button, or even a tracker of how many folks visited my site!

You know Facebook and Twitter images, but a Tracker looks like this (the spelling is right on your webs.com site!):

As far a stylizing goes, webs.com lets you pick custom colors. Yes you should be the boss, and you are the color boss! Roaming around on the site should be a piece of pie, or a walk in the park, ha ha, etc. My webs site can be designed so you can see, in tabs, were you can go. If you have a strict/plain and simple site, you need to show only the minimum to customers and no bs (I mean no clutter which a serious worker -company manager- may be thrown off by).

If you haven't done so yet, make a webs.com account and just try to make your own website! It's free, easy, and you get to know what kind of website your crowd will love you for.

Thanks for the readings,
EZ

Next Step For Your Site!

The last post made was not for "business" people who own a company. It was more for people who just want a personal site. For a business website, you need to understand that a Commerce Page is needed. The maintenance of customer questions and problems has to be done by a customer service agency. You should understand that a domain name, not a sub-domain, can be purchased for a small fee which makes you're company professional. A good place to start on webs.com, for example, is in the Premium Packages section.

Here's a picture of what this premium page looks like:

Here you can purchase a premium Commerce Page (which let's you sell more than 5 products), a customer service plan, and also buy a specific domain name! That's about all you starting out business people need! Web's service, in my experience, provides A LOT of premium features for not a really high price.

Thanks for reading, and be excited for another post!

You Can Make a Free Site Today!

It is really difficult to decide what kind of website you need, or what company you want to open. Usually people make a simple website for a personal reason, business reason, or for another creative task in life. I have recently researched the website: http://www.webs.com/, which claims to give you the "whole package". And it's true, everything from fancy cross-browser compatible templates; your preferred domain names; Search Engine Optimization abilities; eCommerce if you sell things; to Customer Support that can solve client's issues.

I tried this seemingly easy way to make a site, but I was always thinking about a catch in this websites slogan of: "Make a Free Professional Looking Website Today". My idea was to make a small office supplies business website called "EDGAR ZOTOV"; this was just to see how advanced this website can be, for no fee! As I got through the very short registration and extremely easy website building process I jotted down 4 things to remember:

Step 1) Sign-Up for FREE
Step 2) Pick Templete and what type of pages (meaning you can have different functionality on your webpages) you want to display
Step 3) Choose a FREE subdomain name (So, for example edgarzotov.webs.com)
Step 4) And look at your FREE website, which has the standard functionality you need!

Look at some example sites:
a) My site: http://edgarzotov.webs.com/
b) A sample business (can be personal site) site completed: http://markydesigns.webs.com/
c) Another business (also can be personal) website: http://bellaspasp.webs.com/

I "secret shopped" this service, and it really does give anyone the ability to make fashionable webpages. To keep track of what you made, there is a Control Panel feature on the "Dash Board" that allows for necessary site construction to occur. Below are some actual site building and published pics I made to show you the real thing:

(About Page on Website)

Of course there are other free ways to make a website. Sites like: http://www.weebly.com/, http://www.yola.com/, and a huge number of other sites give you a website for free.

I hope you, or your family, has learned something from this post I designed and will stay-tuned to my next post: "Next Step For Your Site!."

Until then, be free and imaginative!
